Project Idea Hunting.. Will be Rewarded

Hi everyone,

This is a serious topic.
I have approx. 400 set of Raspberry Pi Type B and 8GB SD card

So, question is;
1- Is there any way to use them for making money?
2- Do you believe that you can lead this project, software side?
If yes, it can be profitable for you and me

Thanks.

1. Perhaps
2. Depends what it is.
If yes, it can be profitable for you and me
Let me get the straight:

We have to have the idea.

Then we have to implement it.

And you share the profit!

I think I'll pass.

You got it..
Yes, profit share or one time payment for the best applicable, profitable solution.

Profit share is great. But what are you putting into earn your share?

I do pay depts, do investment and take risk to fail.
You do not pay depts, do no investment and take no risk to fail.. Although, give idea and support at software side.
I'm saying this general; If you have a really good idea and have skills to support at software side, Why not to give a go?

Legal and reliable ideas are being hunted..
Profit share & T/C can be agreed by talking then signed on paper as well..
So just have a good idea and ability to make it become running.

I'd categorise spending a long time working on software and implementation quite a large investment myself to be honest.

And the risk of failure is getting shafted out of your cut.

I'm not saying this would happen in this case, but let's not deny it can (I've been on the receiving end of that one  )

SirNight,
You do not pay depts, do no investment and take no risk to fail..
The investment is firstly the idea and then the implementation. That is time and effort if not money.

What are you bringing to the table?

When I said that, I mean investment in cash money. Investing by you brain power is not comparable at all, it is much valuable in real.

What is out of your cut? Can you give more details please? Do you think I am here to take idea(s) or get it done and then run away... If you think so, you are very mistaken my friend.
I said "Profit share & T/C can be agreed by talking then signed on paper as well" In reality, Not only law of land applies to me but also law of Lord indeed.

Forget all, about money/investment/bills..etc , Definitely, I do not want to waste my time nor the GEEK's time.
What did you bring with you and What do you expect to see on the table?

SirNight,
What did you bring with you and What do you expect to see on the table?
That would be telling :)

Now, who are you and what is your track record?

By "shafted out of your cut" i think he means that if your project fails then whoevers helping you will lose out on his share of the money

Which B version? 1 or 2 or 3?
That can make a difference depending on what you want to do....

Thank you, this is the most relevant question ever this topic receives.

Answer is : Raspberry Pi (1) Type B
In detail: Broadcom BCM2835 SoC, which includes a Single Core ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU, and 512 Megabytes of RAM

A Pi B rev 2.0 then (earlier versions had 256MB RAM).

Of course it is. If someone can earn, say, £500 a week, spending that time on another project is an investment of £500 a week.
SirNight wrote: What is out of your cut? Can you give more details please?
"Shafted" means cheated. "Your cut" is your percentage of the project. So getting "shafted out of your cut" means "being cheated out of your proportion of the profits".

I wasn't calling you a cheat at all or even implying that. I was pointing out that there IS RISK ON BOTH SIDES! You said you were taking all the risk. I was pointing out that whoever decides to partner with you is taking a risk on YOU.

Nothing personal at all. I have no idea who you are. I'm merely shooting holes in your specious comment. (Geeks tend to do that - we're very annoying actually - and NEVER wrong  )

Better yet design a case and flog them as "Pi in case". If the case costs $5 but sell for $10 that's $5 x 400 profit less any costs to design the case and sell the units. Include a $5 PSU and add another $5 mark-up and that doubles profit. Include Kodi pre-configured on an SD Card and add another mark-up. Charge a little more for shipping than it actually costs and more profit there.

That's how 'value added' business works.

Well, yes....

That is not much incentive now is it.

That is just a statement of the problem. How to unload 400 old Pi a turn a few bucks.

Install presentation software, build the Pi's in to TV's, sell them as advert presentation devices for museums, bus stations, shops etc.

Pi1 should be capable of that.

Feel free to send me my share of the profits. 10% will be fine.

I think there's a distinct risk that's not gonna happen

This is a joke, for those who may not realise. Jokes can be funny or not depending on your perspective. The value of a joke can go up as well as down depending on the prevailing market conditions at the time. Your mileage may vary.
