Drop of solder on my pi? (pic included)

Fri Sep 14, 2012 10:19 am

Hello!

I've received my pi yesterday, and i noticed something today: there's a drop of solder shorting two connections. I managed to peel it off with my fingernail, but i'm worried damage was done by operating it for about three hours with the connections shorted.

Does anyone know what the connections are for and if my pi is likely to be damaged?

Made in the UK stands for Quality ;)

It seems that the solder drop is on the P5 Pins... some GPIO Pins from REV2

Those are GPIO's which are unactivated when running standard software, so its very unlikely that any damage has occurred, it also explains why the PI passed post production testing.
