Pi Camera for solar viewing
This is a question as to weather the camera can be used for solar viewing with a telescope that has a white light solar filter for optical viewing. Also, is there a gui that I can install on Pi3 for camera control that's easy to install. All this is to have public outreach with daytime and night time astronomy (sidewalk astronomy). I have checked out the FAQ’s and the forum, but no information, so hopefully, there is an answer.

There is not only an answer but information in the Camera Board; you evidently didn't look there ...gnog wrote:I have checked out the FAQ’s and the forum, but no information, so hopefully, there is an answer.

I leave it as an exercise to you to locate the thread in that area.

I have it tagged in my favorites as I intend to connect a Pi camera to our telescopes and have a go a daytime viewing.
It's still on the to do in the future list, has been for a bit now.
With the added bonus of using the Meade's motor controllers if possible.
And while you are at it, could try win something extra
