ALT key stuck in Florence

Sat Nov 05, 2016 1:18 am

I have been developing a portable programmer to flash user parameters into a MODBUS temperature controller that controls a waste gas flare. This device needs touch screen ability with no USB keyboard or mouse. For the most part Florence is working well. But, in order to move windows cut off by the smaller screen height I need the ALT key to move a window to see the OK or CANCEL buttons. When I press the ALT key it gets stuck and never releases. How do I un-stuck it without plugging in a mouse or keyboard?

The version in Debian jessie looks like version 0.6.2-2 whereas the code on Sourceforge is 0.6.3.
Which version are you using ? It might be worth compiling from scratch to see if that fixes it.
I could not see a fix list, the release notes are a bit sparse.

Seriously? You waited 17 minutes before complaining you hadn't gotten an answer yet? Not everyone here is on at the same time. Not everyone here is even awake at the same time. Give them a chance.

Cant you change the screen size, I have never used these tiny screens so would not know, but I think the first thing I would do is adjust the screen size in the Pi config and if I could not see all the screen would use one that I could, but your signature says you should know how to adjust screen sizes but that's an assumption, my main concern is for Florence, does Zebedee know about this?

My thoughts exactly, I was going to post before but thought better of it, I can get a little hot headed at times. :)

@OP, perhaps if you were a little less impatiant perhaps more people would respond to your posts.

Even after pulling in all the dependencies to rebuild Florence to the next revision it still misbehaved. I moved on to using the XVK keyboard. Finally, I didn't expect anyone to post a reply within that short of a time after posting. My comment to myself was basically due to frustration.

We are having the same problem.

We are running the Pi in a mini-kiosk mode with Vivaldi browser and Florence keyboard

When we press the Alt-Key on the keyboard it gets stuck on.

With no way to turn it off.

We will lose customer's good faith with that kind of odd behavior

Are there alternative onscreen keyboards? Or should I go with some kind of in-browser keyboard
(if there is such a thing).

It took me 17 seconds to convince myself that I really shouldn't ask the obvious question.
