best combination Media Centre+HomeAutomation Pi3

(Pi newbie alert)
I'm looking for suggestions of the most complete software combinations for having a Pi3 with touchscreen as both a DLNA Media Centre and a Home Automation controller? (e.g. OpenELEC + HomeGenie ??).

It seems that media centre apps and automation apps are typically separated??.....

I have a remote house running on solar power with a 3G back haul to internet via ethernet, I want guests at the house to be able to control their environment as well as myself controlling it remotely.

My plans are to integrate the following;

- Power usage & management (see the solar charger data via RS-232, switch on/off relay for all house power, possibly some other remote switches/lights)
- Monitor temperatures (easy)
- Monitor a few voltage levels and display on dashboard (e.g. like a 12v high and report it as "Generator on") easy.
- Play music / video from local NAS to HDMI output (SONY amp)
- Use voice commands for the Media centre and/or the Home Automation...maybe with Amazon Alexa?
- If possible add HDMI input to Pi3 and display visual output of SONY sound Amp on the Pi touchscreen.
- if possible integrate an LCARS dashboard as an option https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/lcars- ... pberry-pi/

The Hardware bit is easy but I'm struggling to find a platform/app which covers all this in one GUI....is there one? or is it easy to bolt two together and flip between them?
