Pi 3 No HDMI output

Wed Sep 07, 2016 4:16 pm

Hi Guys,

I hooked up my Pi 3 to a Samsung B2230 LCD monitor via an HDMI to VGA converter cable. The L.E.D's on the Pi seems to be working fine (RED on and GREEN intermittently). However, I have no display on the monitor. I have read about the config.txt file and the "1" to "4" keyboard keys that will select different modes for the monitor, but that did not work.

I have Raspbian on the 16GB SanDisk. Power is a solid 5v/2.5A (via a UBEC).

Any ideas?

Thank you
Danny

If it is an HDMI to VGA converter cable then such is unlikely to work - you need an active converter, for example something like one of these I've tried:

Also, FWIW, I have some notes on config.txt settings etc. here:

Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie on some older Pi's (an A, B1, B2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W) but Stretch on my 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, A+ and a B2. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm
