raspberry pi ultimate GPS v3 battery problem

Dear all,
sry for bothering you,but this time i really have no strength to struggle with GPS..
I went to two different Maplin to get cr 1220...out of stocks..finally got it, but nothing happens when I put battery into GPS,the LED should lights up and blinks...but no...despair....
could anyone help me with it pls, I don't know if I should do somthing before I insert the battery into the GPS? it's ultimate GPS breakout V3.

The battery doesn't power the GPS; it's there to maintain the GPS memory when main power is off.

That allows the GPS to get a lock (position) more quickly when power is applied.

!!!! oh!!!! I see!!! so that the reason why it not blinks, but may I ask if it could maintain the time when GPS lose the connection with satellite, I mean, the GPS can act like a clock as part of the function? Thank you very much!!!!

Yeah, all the com[onents, I guess I may need an antenna, cause I will test the device indoor, anyway, I tested it yesterday, the clock works fine except theres no latitude and etc..XD
