Saving to USB

Tue Jul 05, 2016 3:05 am

Hello,

I am just starting out and attempting to save a file from IDLE3 (Python editor) to my USB.
If I just plug the drive in, I can see it on the desktop but the editor does not see it, only stuff under home, why????

I have attempted to mount the drive in FSTAB so it is automatic (No comments about doing this on the command line please) I can see the drive, but when I attempt to write to it I get ERRON 13 permission denied. I have set it to default and auto drive type detect.
My thinking is that all users should have permission or do I have to set something
Ideas on how to solve appreciated, even if there is some plug and play app to fix the problem

Cheers

Although I dont have a direct response, I am thinking if the USB is mounted correctly you should be able to see it in the /mnt/ folder.

I have a couple of Pi btsync servers and had to set the drive to mount at the begining and I can access it if I go through the mnt folder.
