Homework ideas - modelling permutations of combination

Sun Jul 03, 2016 8:23 am

Hi, we have been using the raspberry pi to do a few home works with my daughter. We like to keep using it and it's been really great doing them together. I feel this homework will be suitable for the pi but I can't quite get into my head what the best thing to do is!

Three ice cream combinations, how many different permiatations are there in the order they can be put on the cone.

It's a dead easy question but I'm struggling to see what I can do, other than the straight forward calculation on the pi!!

Help appreciated.

Direct visual simulation using Scratch?

One sprite for the cone.

One sprite for the 'scoop', with 3 costumes for the flavours.

Three possible choices of costume for the first scoop...

Then you have to refine the rules. Can you choose double strawberry plus chocolate?
