Long Distance Retro Reflective Sensor
I'm looking for information on a retro reflective sensor that can cover 100 foot range that can be used with Raspberry PI. Everything I have seen is for short distances under 3 feet.
Re: Long Distance Retro Reflective Sensor
I assume you are using a laser, as I don't see anything else making that distance, try searching for "corner cube" which is an arrangement of three mutually perpendicular reflectors, either in the form of mirrors or a glass cube.
You will however require very rigid mountings at that range, and getting the laser aimed at the reflector is going to be a challenge.

Such sensors exist, but may cost more than you have in mind.sibon3 wrote:I'm looking for information on a retro reflective sensor that can cover 100 foot range that can be used with Raspberry PI. Everything I have seen is for short distances under 3 feet.
http://www.keyence.co.uk/products/senso ... ion-08.jsp can do 30m (100ft)
Re: Long Distance Retro Reflective Sensor
I have one these to evaluate form work:
http://www.noptel.com/eng2/FastDistance ... ucts/5_cm5
2 to 380 meters range if you have a reflective target.
Only about 2500 Euros.
Or you might like the Parallax range finder. 0 to 59 meters for $349.

Or this for 100 meters

or this for 50 meters.

Memory in C++ is a leaky abstraction .
Re: Long Distance Retro Reflective Sensor
If you don't absolutely need retroreflective you can find some much more affordable through-beam sensors.
Such as this Outdoor 100m Double Beam Security Active IR Detector ABT-100
