Electronics bases

I search one guide for electronics bases, i don't know anything... of eletronic.. i've a project for my raspi!
What do you recommend?

Sorry guys!
i do a alarm for my car, i'll use sensor pir with a shield gsm raspberry.
I saw a project for connect sensor pir to raspberry, but i afraid to make a circuit because i don't know nothing :oops:

Not sure how well they would work in a car though.
