Are you running Raspbian Wheezy?
The last version available for wheezy is 2.6, later versions are only available for Jessie.

1) you're running 2.6. Did you try updating? Are you sure you're running Wheezy?
2) is there a feature you need in the latest version? If not, why do you want the latest version?

Jessie, not wheezy. Not sure which version of Sonic, just put Pi to bed.

Sonic Pi itself suggests me to update. But you tell me not to, so I guess I'll listen to you.

I'm not telling you not to, but I didn't realize it was prompting you to update.
If you can update, then do it, I'm just saying you don't always need the newest version.

OK. I understand your point.
The reason I want each update with Sonic Pi, is because now Sonic crashes with Raspbian. I have to use kernel version 4.1 to use it. And with that kernel the experimental openGL driver doesn't work.

Anybody here uses Sonic Pi? On the latest kernel or on the 4.1 Raspbian kernel?

When I try the second example of the help, using two buffers, the sound already gets distorted. Which settings do you use?
