Rpi3 blue tooth and cell phone keyboard?

Sat Apr 02, 2016 10:48 am

Never used blue tooth before and was wondering if the blue tooth functionality of the pi3 could be used to interface a cell phone and use the cell phones keyboard to input data into the pi running a python script? Not looking for a play by play how to do it but if possible just point me in the right direction and I can go from there. Would be preferable to work with iphones and android OS, again if possible.

Thanks,
Henry

You can establish a Bluetooth serial connection between the phone and Pi with rfcomm. You could then use a terminal program like BlueTerm (Android) to send strings to the /dev/rfcomm0 serial device on the Pi, and read them with PySerial.
