Connecting a bluetooth keyboard

I'm using an Rii keyboard and mouse combination which connected to my RPi via bluetooth.
I am able to connect it first time when I have an additional mouse on the usb port. However when I reboot (and have the keyboard in discovery mode) the RPi does not find it. I need to reconnect the mouse and connect. Cleary this fixes the problem but is not sustainable since I only want to have the keyboard mouse combo.
In the Bluetooth application there is a option to "remember this device" but it doesn't seem to work
