What OSes can NOOBS install?

Sun Mar 20, 2016 1:29 pm

Is it the list on the downloads page, or does it include OSes that are no longer on the downloads page, such as Pidora?

Boot a NOOBS card connected to the internet and a complete list will appear on the NOOBS OS selection screen.

Pidora is dead, Fedora 23 is the future if you insist on using a RedHat flavoured distro.

There is a new NOOBS (and Raspbian) release as of 18 March, so there may be more than just Raspbian now. (I haven't looked at it yet.)

So NOOBS shows the OSes that are on the downloads page of raspberrypi.org (once I connect the Pi to the internet?)

Connect it with a wire and NOOBS will offer you more OSes than just Raspbian.

My question was, which ones?

A bit off topic, but, is Ubuntu MATE going to be added to the list?

I have posted mostly with a Pi 2 running either Ubuntu MATE, or Raspbian.

Sorry, I don't know because it's more than eighteen months since I last remotely looked at a NOOBS system in any detail.

Okay, okay... I just checked using a Pi2B and NOOBS Lite v1.9. The listed installs are:

Raspbian
OpenELEC_RPi2
Data Partition
OSMC_Pi2
RISC OS
Windows 10 IoT Core

Next time you want to know what can be installed, download NOOBS Lite, unzip it, copy all the files to an SD card, put it in a Pi and boot it. Takes less than 10 minutes.
