RPI3 2 GPUs?

Fri Mar 18, 2016 7:37 pm

In the IT News "golem.de" is alleged that the RPI3 2 GPU cores has. Is that correct?

ALL Raspberry Pi's have the same VideoCore IV VPU: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VideoCore
Rather than negativity think outside the box !

Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer.

Depends what you mean.

The 3D block has a set of QPUs that operate on pixel blocks with (mostly) floating-point maths. 283x has 12 of these engines.

The VPU (generic digital signal processor/RISC core that boots first and runs the firmware) is a dual-core CPU with shared 4kiB vector processing register file.

I got VC4 in the RPI3/2, also in some dreamboxes (bcm7XXX).

I found this on golem.de, "airpointr" Gesture Command for the Raspberry Pi, a non free SW (google translated):
By using the GPU 3D graphics performance of the Raspberry Pi is compromised when 2's model, however, the 3 Series model less because it has two graphics cores. This primarily OpenGL applications are affected. Which is important for video playback Video decoder unit but is not affected.
So I was surprised. Is there a difference between at RPI3 RPI2 (GPU).

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org

That website is completely wrong.

It's worth noting that the VPU is at 400MHz now ;)
