There's a clear anomaly in the current line-up of RPi products (Pi2, A+, Zero) in that the A+ is still stuck on 256MB memory. However it's the ideal platform (in every other way) for camera projects. For all other "Model A" uses, obviously the Zero is the best choice (once it's back in stock!!) - however, it lacks the critical camera connector. Therefore, for embedded camera-based projects, only the A+ remains in the lineup. However most camera projects require at least 128MB GPU memory, leaving too little for processing such as motion capture, etc.
So, RPi Foundation folks, please put us out of our misery and tell us when you plan to start using 512MB Memory chips on the A+???
Thanks for starting such an incredible computing revolution!!

Re: When will A+ get 512MB memory!?
The RPF do not announce product changes before launch, so you will just need to wait and see!

Keep the present A+ it is selling so must meet some peoples needs.
What you are asking is perhaps a extra model A+ version on sale as well? A model A+ option mk 3 ?
Who know?

Interestingly, CPC (Farnell consumer site) is listing the A+ as "available until stocks are exhausted" so my guess is, we're just waiting for existing A+ stock to flow through the distys, then the next batch will (hopefully) use the 512MB mem chip, not the old (and presumably getting more difficult to source) 256MB part.

My guess is a Pi 2 model A in the very near future. Same as Pi2 B in terms of spec, but only one usb and no network.
