Streaming youtube at full speed

Sat Aug 04, 2012 6:33 am

I've been trying to find some answers to make it easier to watch video from a browser in console and I've come up with something awesome I think. The only thing that would make this nicer is if this was supported on links2 or w3m-img.

elinks+clive+omxplayer=full speed java video

insert this into uri passing in elinks

quvi –exec=\”omxplayer %u\” %c

Right now my only problem is my elinks gets flooded with code and I get an exit error
error: child exited with: 1
I think this is from the error omxplayer has with not finishing playing videos.

BUT IT WORKS!

I also cannot exit the movie, the omxplayer shortcut buttons don't work, the and do not know how to pick higher resolution video.

I tried setting --format=best but I believe it ends up breaking the buffer between omxplayer and it crashes. I need to find a way to increase the buffer larger size.

EDIT: there were two different types of 480p video in fmt35_480p and fmt44_480p. I think best defaulted to the 44, but selecting the fmt35 worked.

You're not very constructive... are you streaming video from a linux console in xbmc?
