Weather Display

Sat Jan 09, 2016 4:59 pm

Hey Everyone,

I am a newbie and just got myself a Raspberry Pi. I have connected it to a 32 inch samsung screen with a HDMI screen. I work in a tv store and my store owner wants me to display a weather information on the screen behind the counter. Other tvs are connected centrally thru Mac Mini, but he handed over a Raspberry Pi to use for this screen.

Now, I understand I can set the browser to open on boot up, go full screen etc etc, but I have a link to news feed that needs to be displayed as well that means there will be video clips from that link being played without sound though.

Can i do it? Is it possible to do so? CHromiuim can be setup to open at startup?

Thanks,
Rv

Maybe something like Pi Presents (viewtopic.php?f=91&t=131603&p=877945#p877945)?

There is a few projects like this here. I am actually in the process of making a weather/bus stop info screen to my hallway. The nicest one I have seen here is a Kivy based information display that has a weather module already.
