As I post this the farnell website ( http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/produc ... tt=2081185 ) is now claiming that the Pi is in stock for next working day delivery.

That link does not actually work — it redirects to the main Pi ordering page. But you can get to the in stock item page by selecting "Order now", "United Kingdom", "Business". I am pretty sure the warning about VAT numbers for business orders is misleading, at least for UK.

(Selecting "Consumer" takes you to a completely different ordering system, where you can apparently still only buy one Pi at a time, and with no other lines in your order. But with any luck that does not affect stock allocation.)

The Element 14/Farnell general order site http://export.farnell.com/rp/order/?COM ... rypi-group now shows a 5 week lead time - was 3 weeks until yesterday

Farnell can't seem to make up their mind, one page says 3 weeks, the next 5 weeks. After a recent bad experience with Farnell, I wouldn't order from them, but their lead time seems to be far better than the 17 weeks quoted by RS.

Ordered pi 25 July at Element14 (AU). Delivered 1 Aug into regional Queensland Australia. And I think they delayed a few days for a mouse backorder to send with my replacement pi.

I think the drought is over.

btw - I found that you CAN brick a pi. Try feeding the 5.0 volts direct to the GPIO pins, but reversing the voltage. Didn't even see the smoke exit. Must have run on micro-smoke.

Didn't weigh it to see if it differed by soul weight, either.

i got mine from farnell a week ago, took around 5 days to get it (from one side of europe to another ... )
