Pi powered autism robots

Wed Dec 23, 2015 8:13 pm

Hi everyone, I wanted to update the community on a project we've been working on using the Pi. BiBli is a project to bring a crowdsourced low-cost commercially viable robot to the education and autism markets. BiBli is mobile, social and intelligent.

We are using B+ but have it integrated into a fully automated 2wd system which you can let roam or control via a web interface. It has stereo sound and is voice activated. The initial design is to let kids interact with the robot - it plays videos, speaks and has a variety of sound effects.

The module is easy to develop to and in fact we are just partnering with CU Boulder to include the latest version of BlockyTalky which is like scratch for IoT.

We need a few developers, schools and libraries to pilot and help develop AI sequences and media routines. We're giving away the hardware at way below cost. $99 for $260 in hardware alone. Demos to be posted shortly. We are running JASPER and Raspbian. Wi-fi, Bluetooth and rechargeable. Choose the tall or compact design for your own testing.
