boot SD for different Pi

Thu Dec 17, 2015 1:01 pm

I am waiting for a Pi 2 and a Pi zero to arrive in the post and am in the process of building a boot SD card with various OS's. It is dedicated to the Pi 2 but what I'd like to know is will it also work on the Pi Zero? I understand it will not work on the Pi 1 as it has a different version of processor but I can't find any information on what processor the Zero has. Thank you :-)

It is stated in the RPi Zero specs :?

Raspbian Jessie is backward compatable, so the latest 21-11-2015 .IMG will work with all RPi models as it includes both ARMv6 and ARMv7 kernel:

OSMC & OpenElec both have seperate ARMv6 and ARMv7 releases

All flavours of Linaro / Ubuntu are ARMv7 only..
Rather than negativity think outside the box !
RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot) RaspiOS64 ARM64
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...

Thank you for clarifying. I was unaware of the backward compatibility which is good news
