Hi all
Had a disaster with my PI Radar (dog + cup of tea) didnt work well. I have a spare PI but its a v2 and has the microsd card.
I have been able to make a backup of the card via win32diskimager on my windows 7 laptop.

Will copying the file to a microsd card work on the new PI?

Yes it should work, but it depends on how up to date the OS on the card is - there were new files introduced for the Pi 2 and if it needs updating then you may need a Pi 1 in order to boot and update it....

Sorry, thats nothing I have done before. Are you not able to start afresh with a new raspbian image? Lots of good reasons to go with Jessie.....

I'm confused again. You said you have a copy of the image that was on the dog + tea disaster pi. If you have a copy of an image and wonder what is on the image, you simply mount the image and look. What am I missing?

Basically the dog knocked a cup of tea over the pi.
I managed yo get a backup of the sdcard from my windows pc so ihave the 16gb image.
What i dont have is a spare 16gb microsd card.the biggest i have is 8gb.
If i can get to the data on the card then i know that card is ok yes?
If so then its just a case of going out and buying a new card but as i am out of work atm its an expense i cant justify lol.
How would i mount the card in windows ?
Btw the power led comes on on the pi active led is on but dim
