Raspbian Jessie Lite now available

So whats the CPU saving by running Lite on a zero?
I run mine headless, so I'd like to know the benefit of this, there must be quite a bit by not having all that X stuff running that I cant ever see.

Well even with the full version, you don't need to automatically run X

Very roughly when idle, I have about 80 processes running on Lite and about 155 processes running on the full Raspbian.
And its much quicker to download/unzip/dd.

Its just running Get_iplayer downloading Radio shows and converting m4a to mp3, needs a bit of grunt for the conversion, but It gets left on all the time, so no real urgency. I've already got a 16gb card with full raspbian on it, I might just try running without starting X and see how it goes.
