Define "server".

Web server, file server, minecraft server, torrent feed...?
For personal use, or public?

Almost every Pi that runs Raspbian (and most of the others) have at least the SSH server running.

No.

The only figures are number of sales (7,000,000). Nobody knows how they're deployed or whether they're running as servers.

At least we have an upper limit.

I have three. One is an OpenELEC media server (does that count?). One is used for development (it's not currently a server). And one is being stored in a big x somewhere. So, you don't need to account for those ones.

I was interested in any servers that are serving stuff on the internet.
( including web,ftp,ssh,vnc,mysql,...)

7Million of total sales is already a good starting point thx

My eight all run ssh, vnc (sometimes) and a web server, one runs openVPN & MariaDB (MySQL replacement), we've got Ame's details and your one. So only 6,999,988 left to count.

The RPF has been using the 7M figure for a while now. So, besides being a moving target, production rates would suggest that the total is very likely well over 8M by now and could hit 9M by the end of the year. Consider that Pis are probably going to be a fair number of Xmas presents, so there is likely to be a surge in sales over the next month (assuming the distributors have supplies on hand).

I'm brand new to Linux and RPi. My second Pi just arrived yesterday!

My first is attached to a USB printer as an internal print server. The second will, eventually, act as a file server, media center and maybe an email server. It seems these little computers are just perfect for the home user/SOHO that is willing to put in a little work.

Enjoy the ride,
Jay

Four out of five I own are currently used.
One Samba/NFS fileserver (but not on the Internet so it doesn't count I guess? ) and a Transmission Torrent server.
The other two are connected to my raspi-camera and my chair so they're not really servers.

Anyway, one more server counted and 6,999,977 to go.

"internet accessible pi":

Well, you could look at colocated pi:

http://raspberrycolocation.com/ - currently 2,369 pi
https://raspberry-hosting.com/en/news

difficult to estimate how many there with just port forwarding off a home router...
Android app - Raspi Card Imager - download and image SD cards - No PC required !

How many Pis have suffered premature death because of wiring erros, lightening strikes, faulty PSUs, etc? You could count the number reported here, it will reduce your total to check by maybe 20-30.

Pi 1 after 18 months of hard work now sits unused.

Pi 2 is underneath a book case 24/7 just running samba for 3tb of usb storage via plex server.

Need to find something for the pi1 todo.

Get some sensors (BMP180, humidity, rain guage, etc.), make a weather station.
