Rasbian Jessie qtcreator

Wed Oct 14, 2015 5:38 pm

I downloaded the last sept 2, 2015.

And now Unzip it to my SD card. (Verbatim class 10 32gb). I chose to install rasbian OS And Update it. I saw it is a Jessie not wheezy or (btw its my 2nd raspberry). Im still new, so its OK what ever OS on my raspberry as long as i can learn program C++.

Then i install the qt creator. i follow this step by step. (

But when click the qt creator, it wont open the creator but i can open the designer. I also noticed that my raspberry eat more memory as shown is upper right corner, found a java ide, and most of all i dont have Pi store and cant install it. Forcing to close my browser with only 4 tabs.

I dont get it, why on my 1st raspberry (same installer) i have wheezy and i can open the qt creator and dont eat lot of memory while im using only a 16gb memory card (a cheap one card both it in the street) against an expensive verbatim 32gb class 10 card. I also update it.

(My raspberry pi 2 is Model B)
It force me to use codeblocks but all those video that i download is qt tutorial hehe
Advance thanks for the help

If you have Debian Jessie it's time to forget Qt 4 because Jessie has Qt 5. So ignore all those old instructions.

Code: Select all

$ apt-get install qtcreator
Should get you going. You might need :

Code: Select all

$ apt-get install qt5-default
The Qt 5 development defaults package. I'm not sure, I have not tried for a while.

I have no idea what "java ide" or " Pi store" or "Forcing to close my browser with only 4 tabs." has got to do with qt.
Memory in C++ is a leaky abstraction .

There is also this thread:

Which also covers problems with getting qtcreator started.
