I've tried it and the screen refresh rate drops from what appears to be a full 60FPS without it to around 2FPS with it. It may be working properly for other people though.
Pi2B Mini-PC/Media Centre: ARM=1GHz (+3), Core=500MHz, v3d=500MHz, h264=333MHz, RAM=DDR2-1200 (+6/+4/+4+schmoo). Sandisk Ultra HC-I 32GB microSD card on '50=100' OCed slot (42MB/s read) running Raspbian/KODI16, Seagate 3.5" 1.5TB HDD mass storage.

That's weird. I haven't had a time to try the new GL because I've been traveling, but when I tried the VC4 a few months back and everything worked perfectly. WebGL worked great. I'll have to try it. Does it look like the screen refresh is the problem or the speed? Do you see any clues? What happens when you try a WebGL example?

It's the speed of the refresh, if that makes sense. Scrolling a webpage up or down shows extremely slow redraws from top-to-bottom. Roughly a 2Hz rate I'd guess.

I didn't get as far as trying any as my two favourite OpenGLES games wouldn't even launch either, so I gave up and disabled it. I suppose it's possible that my install is broken in some way, but I've not got the enthusiasm to go bug hunting right now.

That's OK, thanks. It'll be some time before I can try it, hopefully the weekend. But I understand what you're saying.

The YouTube issue is fixed in Chromium 48. It worked on Ubuntu MATE at least.

I have posted mostly with a Pi 2 running either Ubuntu MATE, or Raspbian.

OK. Thanks. I'll update the instructions as soon as I can. I assume that the debs are in Ubuntu.

I don't know whats wrong with you. I just installed the OpenGL and scrolling was super smooth. I was actually really impressed with the speed, it was lightning quick, maybe because of the new support, I don't know. But it all works for me.

I can confirm that it now works in Raspbian as well. I will update the instructions.

Yeah, I noticed, but that's a problem with the vc4 driver, not Chromium.

Does chromium v22 support webRTC?

I don't know try it. BTW, with the new OpenGL driver it should be hardware accelerated.

If you want a WebRTC solution look at U4VL

I tested on jessie with the new OpenGL driver and chromium v48 but the video rendering is not hardware accelerated (use a lot of CPU)

The last stable chromium version is 50! Which are the main differences between version 48 and 50?

I don't get the obsession with having the latest version of everything. It most probably wouldn't affect what you are doing.

I also noticed on Chromium 48 that audio playback is phenomenal when played off the web. All the popping and clicking is completely gone! This is huge!

I am on a fresh install and I am trying to get chromium. I get to the last step and i get a lot of gargley-goop that says dependency problems prevent configuration of chromium-browser-l1on: chromium-browser-l1on depends on chromium-browser howerver package chromium-browser is not installed. i think there is something missing in the instructions or something.... or i could have just messed up but please help me.
