error message on black screen

don't know much about computers I need the dumbed down version on how to fix
a message on a black screen that has an error and says stuff about debugging and manually
fix fsck ive read a bunch of posts and the answer is probably there but I don't understand
please enlighten

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I think the best thing to do would be to re-image the SD card, or try another sd card altogether.
Which type are you using?

fsck problems usually mean the storage (SD card) is corrupted, so Texy's advice is the first thing to try.

If you need more help, it is important to quote the error message exactly. People here are generally not clairvoyant and it is not a good idea to guess what an error message means until you've seen the whole message and know what you were doing with the Pi at the time.
