Urban Terror is a no

Wed Jul 18, 2012 6:07 pm

So I saw it mentioned, but didn't see anyone who had actually tried it or run it yet...

I've tried and it looks like there's an issue that would need to be fixed by someone on the Urban Terror dev side to get this running on the Pi. If you try to run it as a mod in ioquake, you'll likely be greeted with the "Hunk_Alloc failed on 33554432" error message. This is because we're running with a setting in the q3config file for the Pi of:
com_hunkmegs 64

Based on posts regarding this in the Urban Terror forums, this "must" be 256 or larger for Urban Terror to run. This is the blocker. We can't allocate 256mb since we only have 256mb total on the Pi that has to be split between system and gpu.

That's the word on it for now...

Funnily enough, been playing Urban Terror since beta launch (12 years ago I think) which means I do know the UrT dev team (some of them anyway).

Will alert them of the issues.

Is it possible to host a UrT Server?

Try it and see, but I do not see why not.
