Yes, but I would suspect that not many would be connected to the internet and of those few would be registered with Rastrack.

Well, I also don't understand what difference or significance it has, whether any RPi's are used in Africa. - BUT - I live in Africa, and am aware of numerous people using RPi's. I am currently running a RPi model B as a nzb and torrent downloader as well as a small web server. I also have an RPi 2 B, which I am waiting to receive, which I intend making into an audio server/player.

So yes, there are people in Africa who use RPi's - we appreciate computers, that use very little power, as much as anybody else, if not more so.

We do see some traffic from africa going through the mirror redirection system but it's a tiny fraction of the total. Whether that is because there are less pis in africa, because people don't update them as much or because people use a manually selected local mirror (unfortunately the only mirror we have in africa didn't respond to requests for permission to add them to the mirror redirection system) I don't know.

Some stats from a recent 24 hour period on average bandwidth redirected by the mirror redirection system.
