Is the Pi Store down?

Tue Mar 24, 2015 8:36 pm

Today I just got my Raspberry Pi B+ hooked up to the internet. When I access the Pi store, I cannot log in or click on a application. I went to the Pi store on some other devices like my Windows Phone. Same Thing! Whats' up? :?:
Windows?, MacOS, Solaris, Linux? So many OSes! Which one!? Meh... I guess all.

I also have this problem. I cannot log in to Pi Store.

I need this functionality to update my recent app submission.

It must be a problem with the server, as I am on a fresh new Raspbian install (using BerryBoot).

Apparently, the wildcard SSL certificate for *.raspberrypi.com expired 01/23/2015.

I tried the Open Arena "Free Download" link which redirected to an HTTPS version of the URL and revealed an expired certificate warning. I proceeded anyway and was immediately redirected to https://auth.indiecity.com/login?service=... where apparently SSL support doesn't work/exist at all (Chromium - "SSL connection error"). If I modify that HTTPS landing URL to HTTP I can make it to a login page, but who would want to log into this thing in its current condition?

I also can't log in to the Pi Store site using a browser, on either a Pi or any other device.

On Google Chrome (on Windows 7), if I visit http://store.raspberrypi.com/projects and click "Login", I get:
This web page is not available

Details:
The web page at https://auth.indiecity.com/login?servic ... ects&login might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED
If I replace the https with http in the above URL, visiting:
http://auth.indiecity.com/login?service ... ects&login

I can then attempt to log in, however I then get:
CAS Authentication failed!

You were not authenticated.

You may submit your request again by clicking here. http://store.raspberrypi.com/projects

If the problem persists, you may contact the administrator of this site. noreply@raspberrypi.com

phpCAS 1.2.0 using server https://auth.indiecity.com/ (CAS S1)

Hello, I'm new on raspberry Pi and I have the same problem. What can I do? (Is it a problem from my connection or a problem from the Pi Store?)

This is a problem with the Pi Store, not on your end.

It seems to be an intermittent problem. I was able to log in just now (and submit an update for my app, which is awaiting approval).

In my opinion it look like an intermittent "bug" that you are still able to update.
Why? A lot of reasons:
- The GUI of the store is bad. Missing pictures, bad style, ...
- There are missing basic features like deleting an app (and this was requested already years ago)
- I still can't download my app for testing even build was successful.
- The Pi store forum (from Indiecity) is totally messed up with spammers. Anyone care about that for month. see http://forum.indiecity.com
-The Store is still very empty. But i understand now why it is so empty.

I am very sorry to say it: But it looks like the Pi Store is down.
The current Pi Store has a very bad vibes for the Raspberry Pi. The Raspbian head should think about giving a command to tidy up the Store and Forum; Or he should delete the store at all. The current situation is very bad. New (and old) guys might turn away if they see that.

Have you written to the RPF to tell them? Send some emails. Send some tweets to @Raspberry_Pi.

I wrote to IndieCity so far only. But no response.
I didn't wrote to RPF.
Maybe i just have got to less experience - as you can see i wrote only a few posts yet.
I don't think RPF will listen to a rookie with a drastic suggestion.

There's no harm in writing to the RPF, it's their reputation that's being tarnished by Indiecity's complete inaction for four months.

I think that the RPF will listen to anyone who can write a coherent post (which you have proved you can), they might not act upon it but their decision will be based on the merit of the idea and not on the number of posts the suggester has made.

Have you tried buying an app with PayPal?

nope, why should I? The question was just "is the pi store down", and it isn't.

The PiStore is a complete waste of time. It's an experiment that failed and should be deprecated now and closed in the near future.
