Hi everyone,
Apologies if answered already (I did a quick search)...
Is anyone working on a fastboot project for raspberrypi such as

http://www.lineo.co.jp/modules/products/warp2.html

Regards,

Peter

I\'d imagine there\'s a *lot* of tweaking that could be done to the boot speed. We should have an informal competition on the forums when more people have hardware (though it would be difficult to decide on at what point you can call the device booted and functional). The Qt people are saying their stripped down system takes 7 seconds to get to command line (given the context, presumably they mean on the Raspberry Pi here).

There\'s full boot, and there\'s \"wake from hibernation\". I think full boot is a lot more interesting because it\'s only a couple handful of seconds anyway, and the Pi does not have a power of switch: it makes no sense to hibernate it.

Full boot is the one to test. But you will still have to decide whether the count ends at command line or at what point inside a graphical user interface. I suggest you pick a common program or task that has to be completed as that point. The use of caching and memory filled is a factor in a GUI. The GUI might be up but is it ready to be used? Even at the command line this might be true depending on the OS
