Hi my b is not syncing VFS unable to mount root da on unknown block 179,2

Are you trying to say you have a Model B (not model B+ or Pi2) Raspberry Pi and that it has an external drive that isn't mounting correctly, or are you seeing the error message "VFS not syncing" when your pi is booting?

If it's the former how are you trying to mount the drive?

If it is the later, it sounds like a corrupted SD card. Was this your first boot or did it suddenly get corrupted?

Ok, but without more info from the OP it's impossible to say what causes that in his / her situation.
Could be a simple SD card corruption...

Sorry for wording but that was what was coming up when I rebooted but I did a total clean up of sd card with kodi and it worked after a few reboots
