Type this in text editor then save in Documents as Kodi
#!/bin/bash
kodi
if [ "$?" = "0" ]; then
killall kodi
fbset -depth 8 && fbset -depth 16
xrefresh
fi


In Terminal type
cd Documents/
chmod +x kodi

Copy the file Kodi to the desktop and click and select Execute.Works on Jessie RPi 2&3

Indeed is working on RPi2 with Jessie and Kodi15.2 installed!

tried your process but keeping getting the following error.

[email protected]:~ $ cd Documents/chmod +x kodi
bash: cd: Documents/chmod: No such file or directory

These are two different commands (cd vs chmod) and must be written in two different lines each one following by pressing the "Enter" key or they can be combined using the "&" .

I got the script saved and added chmod +x kodi.sh, now do I put the script in the startup folder? how do I do this?

However kodi still crashes when I exit
I got a raspberry pi 3, raspbian pixel , jessie
