The browser wars continue.
Recently Firefox was switching users from Google search to Yahoo search. This made a lot of people upset because in many cases the switch happened covertly. It's hard to chalk this up as coincidence when Firefox recently went from being funded by Google to being funded by Microsoft.
I am wondering if the browser warning messages on Youtube are an extension of this corporate conflict. Rather than picking sides, it's easy to see that we the users are paying the price.
Youtube should be more responsible than this in my opinion. This warning is effecting a lot of people, most of which don't have the technical skills to understand that they don't need to bother with the warning and can simply click on the "NO THANKS" button to continue (in most cases). Very disruptive. You would think the html5 version of youtube would simply load by default when it's needed. Unless of course they have another agenda...
It's now 2015. Why are we still encountering flash requirements all over the Internet? Was it a good thing that Google put Pepperflash into Chrome when all it does is slow the transition away from open standards? Oh wait, that's another topic...
