Chromium no login (sync) possible

Mon May 17, 2021 11:45 am

Hello!

I installed Chromium 88 new and tried to login to sync bookmarks and so on. But it is not working.
I first tried to login to gmail, which is possible and my sign on the webpage is visible. I did this because all the other threads told that I first have to login to gmail and then to sync, but this doesn't help here.
But when I try to login for sync afterwards, the singn for login is not updated and I see no error message or something like that.

GMail is working fine without any problem, but sync login is not possible.

I totally deleted Chromium 88 with all cache and so on and installed Chromium 90 but nothing is changed. The sync login is not possible.

Is there someone who can help me? What can I do?

I am running the newest version of Raspberry Pi OS Buster with all updates and now Chromium 90.0.4430.93-1 deb10u1.

Google have removed many "features" from chromium browser

This has already been discussed in previous posts ;)
The information is out there....you just have to let it in.

I always saw at the end that it is still working. But OK if Google has killed that, they killed it.

Thank you for the answer!

Use Vivaldi.
I copied my Chromium profile over Vivaldi, then setup the sync feature in it. Now I have a browser that syncs on all my devices.
I had already imported my Chromium bookmarks into Firefox.
And since i use Bitwarden my passwords are available on which ever browser I use.
I completely removed Chromium, screw Google.

Is there a version of Vivaldi for Raspberry Pi OS?
I am already using it on Windows an my Mac. So this would be great.

Yes:
arm32 : https://downloads.vivaldi.com/stable/vi ... _armhf.deb
arm64: https://downloads.vivaldi.com/stable/vi ... _arm64.deb

Both add the Vivaldi repo, but only the arm32 repo works. so if you are running Rasp pi OS arm64 comment the repo.

You can also download the Snapshot version.
