pi4 crash out

Thu May 06, 2021 4:20 pm

Hi guys!!!
I have a big problem, I have 3 raspi 4 new ones, they don't grab the image from the sd of another one that I have running, then I installed everything from scratch on a new sd and all 3 burst, in the log I can see this but I don't know how to correct it.

Code: Select all

Re: pi4 crash out

must be a problem with making the SD Card.

to COPY a running system:
- Get a microSD to USB adapter.
- put the new SD card in it, plug it into one of the USB Ports on the running PI
- use the "SD Card Copier" (under accessories)
copy FROM (the mmcblk0 or something like that)
copy TO: the usb connected card, ususally sdasomething.
i do it all the time, works fine.

OR to install from scratch:
on another computer: (PC, MAC, or Linux)
- install "raspberry pi imager" from HERE: https://www.raspberrypi.org/software/
- download the PI OS from HERE: https://www.raspberrypi.org/software/operating-systems/

use the imager to write to the new card (i assume in a USB adapter)
it will go thru the first time setup the first time it boots.
i had a Trash-80 model 1 (circa 1980). upgrading from 4k to 16k of RAM, i thought "i'll never use this much RAM".
Now i have a computer with a million times that much memory. And i keep running out of it.
Not the computer....ME.
