Which distro for running KODI?

Running Kodi on RetroPie for a few months now, but since the v17 update nothing is working properly anymore. I don't really use the emulation features that RetroPie offers.
I'm looking for a distro that still allows me to have sudo/apt-get access so that I can set up MySQL/run other things as well. What about OSMC?
Recommendations needed.

Regards

What exactly doesn't work properly ? If you are talking about third party addons, there are reports of many not working properly due to sites like tvaddons being closed, but that is not a Kodi problem.
Better explain what isn't working properly preferably posting your Kodi log.

All the media centre talk goes in in this section
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=35

Have a read in there a bit, see what they may be talking about?
The two on the main download page or OSMC and LibreElec https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/

Good suggestion on forum.
I take it the extra is a full desktop and package manager. Raspbian has all that but maybe not Retropie, OSMC or LibreElec?
