Re: Comparable commercial product pico-sam9g45

With all the comparisons to shevapug, beagleboard, etc. I'm surprised noone has mentioned what seems to be the closest commerically available unit: mini-box pico-sam9g45. It costs about twice as much ($69), has 256 MB ram and a 400mHz arm9 processor, LCD interface rather than HDMI ($35 for a small LCD), ... http://www.mini-box.com/pico-SAM9G45-X
It also has Arch linux or anderoid rather than Debian, but that's probably curable. This may be an option for those who want to order something now to develop for the R-pi, as long as you don't use the extra hardware features.

Probably because no-one had noticed it before. :-)

A most curious collection of interfaces, to be sure, including a SIM socket. Then there's the Android images. it looks like a frankenstein mobile phone!

I had seen that tablet before, kinda sad to learn it's just an android tablet (not a fan of phone OSes on tablets, but that's just me), I'm also not sure if it's ever going to be released to the world at large. I know it's aimed at students, and they might end up going the OLPC route.
Dear forum: Play nice ;-)

@abishur: on a tablet, there's only one thing worse than a phone OS: a desktop OS ^^

Indeed... Now, someone tell Microsoft that this is the case... ;)
