Re: OT: Connect to 2 networks in win7

Sun Sep 04, 2011 7:21 pm

This was easy in xp, but can't figure it out in win7.
I have 2 networks at home 1 is the family network with internet access the other is a wired network with no net access i want to connect to both at the same time. I am not looking to bridge the 2 or anything of that sort. I want them to remain separate. Now My problem is I can not connect to both at the same time. Any ideals?

do you want to dual port a single NIC, or does your computer have two ?

http://www.google.com/search?c.....ltaneously

does yield interesting answers.

1 wireless network and 1 ether-net network I want to be on both networks at the same time, was easy in xp. Nothing fancy now.

I'm using the Enterprise version of windows 7. For me, the switch happens automatically, it checks with one network if the item desired is there and if it's not it checks the other network.

I'm using ultimate prob. is if I connect to lan the wifi disconnects. lan. has to be disconnected for wifi to work. It's so frustrating.

Reading the links from the google search, it seems it can be done, if both adapters are on different subnets and only one has a gateway ?
