So this is purely wild speculation, but it's Friday and if the last 2 weeks are anything to go by, there's a good chance RS will be slinging out yet another bout of "we still love you" emails.

The next few hours will give us the answer I suppose...

Just checked, Inbox and Spam.  Nothing.

The only thing in the spam was from from "Kikki", subject "kiss to you my new friend".  RS Components?  I don't think so!

Apparently I have just won $1M in a lottery I don't recall entering, am able to double the length of a certain appendage and can claim $5M if I can help some chap get a ton of gold out of Nigeria. So Friday is not such a washout after all!

If only they were all true.  I have had one today from the Nigerian Police offering to help me recover GBP2Million which was scammed off me by one of their criminals.

Rather odd I think I would have missed that amount of money, and even odder after looking at the headers what are the Nigerian Police doing sending emails from a Russian address?

I think I"ll pass on this one and just dream about having enough cash to order my own personal production batch of Raspberries.

You really should take these opportunities when they present themselves.  I had an email from a Mrs Ghadaffi, from somewhere on the med. coast. She's got $900,000,000 dollars, and is going to give me a third of it just for helping her out with a money transfer.  All I have to do now is wait for my commission to arrive in the account (all I had to do was give her my account details - simples!) then I can buy up all the 'Pis, before they arrive, and keep everyone in suspense for a few more months.....' <EVIL GRIN>

Why are we doing this? Compliance testing is an essential part of bringing any electronic product to market. The Raspberry Pi is being tested to make sure it conforms to all the regulations that apply to electronic devices around the world. This means that we can be sure the Raspberry Pi we deliver to you meets the correct standards and is as safe as you would expect any electronic device you purchase to be.

We’re working with the Raspberry Pi Foundation to manage the testing process as quickly as possible, while ensuring all tests are carried out to guarantee safety. More information is being posted on the Raspberry Pi website , as well as on our own FAQ pages rswww.com or DesignSpark. We’re also regularly tweeting updates on progress. Follow @RSElectronics on twitter to catch the latest news.

Alongside this, we’ve also been contacting the first group of people who registered for a Raspberry Pi from RS, to help us plan delivery of the initial batch of boards. In next week’s update, we’ll provide more information on how we’re managing the queue and the order process.
