Hey everyone!

Just a quick Q.

Would a HDMA to VGA cable such as this one

Work on the RasPi or is it not as easy as that?

I have a couple of old VGA CRT's lying around and would love to be able to use them.

Not as easy as that.

There are several threads which explain why.

Cheap doesn't work, what works is very expensive.

The subject has been discussed ad nauseam.

Go to the home page (see menu above) and use the search facility.

The real answer to this is that if you have VGA monitors laying around, you probably have PCs laying around - and these PCs can run VNC (client).

Therefore, all you have to do is get VNC (server) running on the Pi.  Think of it as a rather expensive (if you were buying it new) HDMI->VGA cable.  But since you've already got the stuff laying around, there is no further investment (as there would be to buy the appropriate converted box - which people have been pricing at about 30 quid)

As we have seen, this turns out to be the best answer to the "Pi in ICT" thread as well.
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

(One of the best lines I've seen on this board lately)
