Mon Sep 25, 2017 4:23 am

Wireless charging startup chooses to call themselves Pi Inc- presumably to be close to Qi.

What a ridiculous gadget.

Kind of neat geek project, what with it's rotating coils and such, but what practical benefit is?

Off hand, looking at it, I can't see why I would want that big antenna box on my desk. I just plug the phone to USB on my computer!

A typical flat wireless charger does not clutter the place up so much.

How so?

It takes up space on my desk or wherever.

It needs yet another wall wart to plug it into the mains.

My phone has to be near by it to charge.

It's going to be inefficient.

All in all more hassle than a micro USB charging cable plugged into my PC-laptop.

May be of use to a family with a number of mobile phones that all need charging, one charging device at one location for all to use.

But for me a total no starter, my mobile is my only phone so it is always with me be it in the kitchen, sat watching TV, at my desk or even asleep in bed so much easier to just use a small mains charger plugged in were ever I happen to be when the phone needs charging.
