If it is like the Qualcomm offering, supported W32 Software will run in an Emulation Layer, hence why 4GB memory....

Do you know if it is possible/easy to boot another OS on it?

Acer also offer ChromeOS on this line of Netbooks:

If we can get Debian on there I'd perhaps be up for buying such a thing.

There are cheaper options if want to have an alternative Linux Netbook ;)

Whoa, how cheap can we go?

I thought the $400 price was pretty good compared to this 1600 Euro Surface Pro my boss insisted on buying for me.

I do like the idea of a 64 bit Quad core ARM machine though.

Considering MS like EUFI / Secure Boot, it may be better to start with a ChomeOS version:

The thing is, though, that while there are people that are succesfully running Debian and other linux distros with ARM arch, you still can get a fairly good intel equivalent with same price paid, I believe. And when you do, there are advantages. Like probably better graphics chips and driver support, more available software etc. Some of those 2 GB celeron ones go for like 200 USD or less.
