DLP lightcrafter 2000

Wed Sep 13, 2017 7:07 am

I have recently bought the new DLP lightcrafter 2000 projector evaluation module. Out of the box this generally works for BeagleBoneBlack but they have specified in the manual that it would work for raspberry pi too.

The manual of the Projector is http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu049b/dlpu049b.pdf

The board uses DPI to transmit video and also uses I2C. Because the pins on the raspberry pi cannot be used while using DPI on 24bit RGB mode, i have wired it up to an arduino. But, unable to get what is supposed to go onto the config.txt file. Also while using the projector, are we supposed to add an overlay so that the data is read?

The current configuration i have given in the config.txt is as follows
framebuffer_width=640
framebuffer_height=360
enable_dpi_lcd=1
display_default_lcd=1
dpi_group=2
dpi_mode=87
hdmi_timings=640 1 0 48 0 360 0 13 3 32 0 0 0 50 0 5529600 6

any help would be appreciated.

TIA

I wondered how you had got on with this?

My plan, when I have the time, is to only use 565 colour depth so I don't need to use all the video pins (16 not 24) and can re-configure the I2C lines so I can then send commands direct from the RaspberryPi and not need to use a separate IC, such as the Arduino you planned to use.
