Wanted: Model B Rev. 1 V3

Tue Jan 01, 2013 12:57 pm

Hello,
I am looking for a version of Model B Rev.1 Code 3 256MB Pi with D14 removed as in BOLD below:

Model and revision Code(s)
Model B Revision 1.0 2
Model B Revision 1.0 + ECN0001 (no fuses, D14 removed) 3
Model B Revision 2.0 4, 5, 6

Does anyone who is UK based have one of these that they would be prepared to exchange for a band new unused Rev 2 512MB Pi?

Edit: Never mind, looks like I've got a chip marked D14 on the back of the board, so I've not got the version you want.

Look where the HDMI connector is. Check the other side of the board for D14. If you see D15 and D16, but D14 is removed, that's a sign. Now flip back to the proper side up and look in the corner between the audio jack and the usb ports. If there is no mounting hole and you have two devices marked with a '0', then it's the board he's after. Last check is to fire it up and run "cat /cpu/procinfo" the revision should say '0003'.

You can determine which board revision you have by typing cat /proc/cpuinfo at the command line and looking up the hardware revision code in the following table:

Model and revision Code(s

Model B Revision 1.0 2
Model B Revision 1.0 + ECN0001 (no fuses, D14 removed) 3
Model B Revision 2.0 4, 5, 6

I have a Code 2, unfortunately

Someone on the IRC channel has a rev2 (512mb with mounting holes), but cpuinfo reports 0002. So I am actually not sure how reliable it is.

I have the version you want (Model B, Rev. 1, Code 3 256MB, without D14).

You have to know the warranty bit is set, and I'm not in the UK but in France.

Code: Select all

root ~ # cat /proc/cpuinfo
Processor	: ARMv6-compatible processor rev 7 (v6l)
BogoMIPS	: 697.95
Features	: swp half thumb fastmult vfp edsp java tls
CPU implementer	: 0x41
CPU architecture: 7
CPU variant	: 0x0
CPU part	: 0xb76
CPU revision	: 7

Hardware	: BCM2708
Revision	: 1000003
Serial : 00000000392*****
By the way, I'm not really interested in another Pi (already have a rev.2 512MB), but we may have another deal if you want.

I've got one, too bad I'm in the US. Didn't realize it was a rare one.
Good luck on your collection.

I can check which version my 256Meg pi is when I get home on Friday if you haven't found anyone with one to swap by then.
It's was going to be my mail server but can't run clamav and spamassassin in half a gig, so a swap for me would be ideal.
It also comes with vc1 and mpg codecs as its currently being used for openelec

Mine has no D14 - but is not powered up.

I'll check the model - but got it late September last year so should be an earlier model (is 256mb ram)

EDIT - now powered on

Code: Select all

root@MusicBox:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo
Processor : ARMv6-compatible processor rev 7 (v6l)
BogoMIPS : 464.48
Features : swp half thumb fastmult vfp edsp java tls

CPU architecture: 7
CPU variant : 0x0
CPU part : 0xb76
CPU revision : 7

Hardware : BCM2708
Revision : 0003
Serial : 0000000001fa******
Looks like I have what you need - I'm in the UK so post should be cheap!

Let me know if your still looking!
