Beta Testers wanted

Thu Aug 23, 2018 9:36 pm

Hi,

Our product lets your wifi guests land directly on your webpages. Its a captive portal with a local web server.

It runs on raspberry pi 3 or 0w and requires an open LAN from your router. The underlying OS is a headless raspbian. We have completed internal testing and limited onsite testing in restaurants and bars. Now we would like a broader beta test, before we launch.

Our product is very suitable for restaurant, bars, speciality stores and dense neighborhoods.

Can be used with or without internet connection, though the registration phase required internet. Can allow or not allow guest internet access. Can be open or encrypted SSID....

We can supply the OS+software. You just have to burn it on a SD card (minimum 4GB) and run it on your pi and give us feedback.

You can contact me here or at [email protected]

More about our product at 100-xyz.com

Thanks and if you have any questions, please let me know.

You don't say how much you're paying.

It's in the wanted section, which I think is probably the best place.

I don't see how, given that they're not paying. Considering it sounds like a product that's actually going to cost money, if it belongs anywhere in under YOPS, it'd be For sale. Otherwise, it's more Projects/Networking and servers material. With all the trolls and misclassified posts, the forums have really started to take a turn for the worse.

What has "Wanted" got to do with paying?

Maybe later, when it is released and being advertised as for sale?

AFAIK, there are no changes in the moderation, so difficult to see how things have changed. Classification of some posts can be difficult, this one is Ok from my pov. As for trolls, they are getting more sophisticated, we are trialling some forum SW to help, but it's mostly a manual process as it has been for the last 6 years.
