Pi Repair

Mon Apr 10, 2017 2:11 am

I have damaged the SD card slot and I would like to get it replaced but I don't trust my soldering skills to do it. Is there someone or somewhere I can get it refurbished?

Hi,
getting it done locally would be the best option, but we don't know where in the world you are.

There's a very easy way to fix it for somewhere between £20 & £35 depending on the model.

It's hard to imagine any repair shop doing this repair for less than the cost of a new Pi.

Just try it yourself, and if you break it, buy a new one.

Put your city name in meetup.com and find a "makers" group. Some gnarly old tech will show you how to operate a soldering iron while dozens of young geeks will tell you how to print the electrical connections using plastic. :D
