I know this thread is a little old, but I think this information more than makes up for it. In the Portland, OR area, there are a lots of clubs and groups that use and share information on the Raspberry Pi and other embedded systems controllers:

I'm very surprised that there aren't already any RPi groups here in PDX - Esecially with so many maker spaces and the like in the Portland Metro area!

I'm planning a regular, monthly get-together at the North Portland Library (on Killingsworth Ave., over by Portland Community College and Jefferson High School) beginning in February. From my experience with Silicon Valley Linux User Group in "the early days of Linux" I'm thinking that two different focuses are needed:
  1. Group meeting with informational presentations and discussion.
  2. Hands-on introductory working sessions helping folks become familiar with "touching components and stuff". (SVLUG called them Install-fests.)
Are there any folks nearby that would be interested in attending or helping to organize?

Hello!

I'm located in Portland, Oregon. Doing a bit of travel this year, but will try to stop in at some of the local events.
