Southern New Jersey

I am gathering interest in the Southern NJ area of raspberry pi users (Burlington, NJ near Trenton/Moorestown/Philadelphia). First off, maybe just a casual get-together at a local establishment (Library, Starbucks, etc.). If there is enough interest, then look into renting or acquiring some space for demos.

I pretty much gave up on this due to the lack of interest. I would have thought a lot more of the million+ pis made it to New Jersey.

Gave up?
But Pi has only been around 1 year.
I heard about it a while, but only in the past month did I actually buy one. I bought it after I saw someone with it.
So, try again later.
Next time I'm down there, you can can show me your Pi.

I'm in central NJ (New Brunswick area). Would be interested to meet up and see what other people are doing. Currently I'm working on: -
  • Webserver - all set up and running - the idea eventually is to link this to my garage door opener, so that i can send a request from my iphone to the Pi to open the garage

Checking out I2C interface - already have a 4x20 LCD running with Python, next is a 84x84 Nokia 5110 LCD or a 4x 7segment display - and then all 3 at the same time!

Teaching my 10yr old Scratch programming and will move onto Python, probably by late summer (possibly earlier as he just gets it!)

Setup XBMC to see how it works and see if there are any benefits over Apple TV

I know this is a little old now, but did anybody get anything going in NJ? I'm at the shore, so north/south, doesn't really matter where.

I'm on the shore as well and would be interested to see something happen in NJ. I can head North or South. Also if anyone is still following this thread, does anyone know where I can get my hands on that sweet sweet new Raspberry Pi 2??

I can't speak for where the new pi's are in stock, if that is what you mean, but I bought most of my previous ones at Element14.
